Dirty Laptop Screen?: If your kids use your laptop, you're sure to have tiny little sticky fingerprints on your LCD screen. How else are they going to show their friends their best score on a computer game without touching the screen? Don't despair. Cleaning the screen is easy. All you need are equal parts of distilled water , isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth. You don't need very much (unless you have a huge screen). Mix the water and alcohol together in a container. Dip the cloth in the mixture, wring out the excess liquid so the cloth is damp and wipe the screen. If you use a damp cloth, there should be no need to wipe off excess, however, if you do have excess moisture on the screen, dry it with a soft cloth. Temptations: You might be tempted to use tap water and paper towels. Tap water is not recommended because of its potentially high mineral content and may leave mineral deposits on the screen. Similarly, paper towels tend to leave paper dust on the screen.
